The 2022 Great Lisbon FARMERS FEED THE HUNGRY Christmas Parade - formerly known as The Lisbon Christmas Horse Parade - will kick off at 12 noon in the historic town of Lisbon, (Woodbine) Maryland, on Dec. 10, 2022. Festively decorated tractors driven by local farmers will lead the parade followed by up to 250 seasonally adorned horses (both ridden and driven) along the parade route down the Old National Road (Frederick Road), Route 144. The Lisbon Christmas Parade is presented by the Howard County Farm Bureau in partnership with the Carroll County Farm Bureau annually on the second Sat. of Dec. It benefits the Howard County Food Bank, Carroll County Food Sunday, Farmers & Hunters Feeding the Hungry and the Lisbon Volunteer Fire Company. Parade patrons are invited to shop for the season at the Days End Farm Horse Rescue's Santa Village and enjoy "Reindeer" Rides from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Since 2011, the Parade has raised over $150,000 and collected many thousands of pounds of food to feed the local food insecure in our communities. In 2021, the parade raised over $24,500. This year we are hoping to raise well over $25,000! GET INVOLVED: Wanted! Farmers with tractors and farm equipment, equestrians riding saddle horses or driving carriage horses, plus SPONSORS and NON-PERISHABLE FOOD DRIVE LEADERS! THINGS TO NOTE FOR THE 2022 PARADE: The parade begins at 12:00 noon. Arrive early to secure parking and the best spot along the parade route. Route 144 and nearby roads along the parade route will be closed at 11:30 am. LEARN MORE: Want to learn more about the 2022 parade, where to park, about the parade route?
